Marble is a Metamorphic stone which means it was formed (through a process called Metamorphism) from another rock by extreme heat and pressure below the earth’s surface. Terrazzo is an extremely hard wearing sand cement resin in which chips or aggregate, in most cases marble, are mixed and then ground to a flat surface, this process exposes the chips, which take on a high polish.
Terrazzo comes in many colours and each floor is unique, it is an expensive very hard wearing material and usually found in commercial installations.
